Gerald Kahle

Director of Junior Tennis

Gerald has been teaching in California since 1995 and has instructed Nationally Ranked, State Ranked and local successful High School players at the following clubs: Tennis Club of Vista, Vista, CA; San Luis Rey Downs Tennis Club, Bonsall, CA; Fallbrook Tennis Club, Fallbrook, CA.

 

Player highlights:

Ranked #1 and #2 in 10s, 12s and 14s in Louisiana; Played Junior Davis Cup for Louisiana; Ranked Top Five for Mississippi in both years of 16s; Played Davis Cup for Mississippi; Finished Junior Tennis in Southern Cal playing for Riverside Community College where he had a Singles Conference Record of 40 & 1!

Gerald was ranked #8 in singles for all California Jr. Colleges and in 1999 was selected as Conference Player of the Year both Singles and Doubles! Gerald then received a full scholarship to N.A.I.A. Cal Baptist College and was ranked #2 in 2003 Men's Open Doubles in Southern California.

John Sruk

Director of Adult Tennis - USPTA Certified

John is a native of Melbourne, Australia. He was a top 10 junior in Australia, reaching the quarter-finals of the Australian championships in the 14's, 16's and 18's division. John also had the opportunity to compete in the Australian Open Junior doubles Championship. John was a member of the LSU men's team, including the SEC championship team, which went to the NCAA Final Four. John graduated from LSU in Accounting and has been a member of the Bocage Tennis staff since 2000.

Kirsty Llewellyn Berthelot

Tennis Manager/Head Pro - USPTA Certified

Kirsty is a native of Sheffield, England. As a junior she was ranked #1 in Yorkshire, #1 in North East England, and she finished in the top 10 in England.

Kirsty came to the US in 1990 to attend the Nick Bolleteiri Tennis Academy and was recruited to play at LSU. She lettered at LSU from 1992-1996, playing both singles and doubles. She graduated in Mass Communications and has a Master Degree in Public Relations. In 2000 she represented the South in the intersectional team championships winning the Women's 25's. In 2001 Kirsty was one of two coaches chosen to represent Louisiana to coach Junior Fed/Davis Cup. Kirsty has been part of the Bocage Tennis Staff since 1997.

Ed Gaskell

General Manager / Tennis Director

USPTA certified pro since 1985.

 

Playing Highlights:

■ Originally from New York, top 20 junior player.

■ Played tennis for Tulane University, 1973 to 1977

■ Played challenger and satellite events achieving a top 500 ranking.

■ Ranked as high as #2 in doubles and #3 in singles in Men's 35, 40, & 45 age divisions in the U.S.

■ Men's 35 U.S. Clay Court Doubles Finalist 1991.

■ Men's 40 U.S. Clay Court Singles Finalist 1996.

■ Named "Men's 45 Player of the Year" by the USPTA Southern Division in 2001.

■ Gaskell family was named "Tennis Family of the Year" by the New Orleans Tennis Association in 2003.

Teaching Highlights:

Teaching since 1973 Ed has instructed players from beginners to NCAA champions and pro players.

Men's head coach at Tulane University 1998, 1999.

Owned and managed the West End Tennis Club in New Orleans from 1999 to 2005 with wife Elsa.

Chase LeBlanc

Chase is a Baton Rouge native who has six years of teaching experience and has been on the Bocage staff since 2007. Chase played number one singles for Catholic High in Baton Rouge and then attended LSU where he graduated with a degree in History & Oceanography. Chase specializes in working with junior players who are just starting to play tournaments.
