IMPORTANT SWIM INFORMATION
Children will only be able to swim without a puddle jumper if they pass the required Red Cross Swim Test which includes:
1. Step or jump into the water over your head.
2. Return to the surface and float or tread water for one minute.
3. Turn around in a full circle and find an exit.
4. Swim 25 yards to the exit.
5. Exit from the water. If in a pool, be able to exit without using the ladder.
[SELA works to prevent any life-threatening situation at Camp Bocage by requiring a swim test on the first day of camp for all children who want to swim in the large bocage pool without a puddle jumper. If you have a child that is a weak swimmer, they do not have to participate in the swim test, however they will be required to wear a puddle jumper anytime they are in the pool area. This ensures the safety not only of all campers but of the members already swimming in the pool at that time.]
